Dance Workshop: Aladdin
The energetic alternative to pantomime
Celebrate Christmas in an active way this year by exploring the traditional tale of Aladdin from the inside!
Dance with the genie of the lamp, empathise with Jasmine and Aladdin and fly with the magic carpet! The children will use their imaginations to gain a new understanding of the story and its characters, with plenty of Christmas cheer and pantomime fun thrown in.
Our choreographer will begin the visit with a short assembly creating a link between in the children's minds between narrative and dance, and will then work class by class for the rest of our visit.
The children will develop their individual dance skills and experience working together as a large team. Children will develop, select and refine a range of motifs in response to the music and put them together as a performance.
This will be a memorable and exciting way to experience and participate in the telling of one of the great pantomime stories!
