Having spent the winter galloping up and down the country with last year's West End in Schools show Rev it Up, it was with a little reluctance that I boarded a train to Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands to begin a seven-month stint at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre as a member of their acting company.

My experience of performing in primary schools

Working for West End In Schools has given me the opportunity to visit Primary Schools of all shapes and sizes all around the country with 'Rev It Up!'

I have performed to thousands of school children who all seem to enjoy and more importantly learn from the experience. It's remarkable how many themes are covered in 'Rev It Up!' and all under the clever disguise of performance.

It's great - and a real change - to work in such intimate spaces! Performing in large theatres creates a divide between performers and audiences but it's so lovely to actually be able to see the reaction on the faces of the audience.
