The day will be rooted in rehearsal technique, and all the activities are designed to be usable and adaptable for teachers delivering A’ Level Drama & Theatre Studies.

Transient

Working with a professional director, you will undertake a practical exploration of plot, language, forms, characterisation and stagecraft to communicate ideas to an audience as a director.

A range of rehearsal techniques and devices will be explored practically, with a focus on directorial approaches and how the director works with a company to achieve an overall concept in performance.

There will be an opportunity for reflection and Q&A.

Outcomes:

You will leave the day armed with a range of rehearsal techniques, directorial devices and session activities to enrich your students’ understanding of approaching the play from the viewpoint of director.
