World War 1 Workshops

ww1-workshops

For the centenary of the First World War these workshops visit schools to give children an understanding of the events and the timeline that shaped history.

Through spoken word, improvisation and storytelling a day of structured class-by-class workshops create an understanding of life as a soldier.

We focus on the geography of the Western Front, including the trenches and no-mans land, and the Christmas Day Truce. The words of WWI poets stimulate movement and drama with the children physically exploring locations and emotions.

The day can end with a show and tell for the classes each sharing a part of the event to each other.

Workshop leader: An accomplished, professional actor experienced in working with children

Schedule: We can work with up 6 classes in a single day or have longer workshops for fewer children.

Price: £499 for a full day or £349 for a morning (plus VAT.)

Educational outcomes: Awareness of the past, historical perspective, spoken word
