Teacher Feedback

We want to inspire a love of books and reading and this has really helped to get us off to a great start. This production kept all the children enthralled for the whole hour. When you consider some children were on their second week in full time schooling, this is exceptional!

Headteacher, Manorbrook Primary, South Gloucestershire. Oct 2011

The theme of the show appealed to all....from the youngest children who enjoyed spotting characters from some of their favourite picture books, to the older children who had direct experience of the topic and could identify with the deeper themes and messages of the performance. Something for everyone!

Deputy Head, St John Fisher, Merton, London. Oct 2011

It was good to focus in on key books that everyone was familiar with. A lively way to mark Book Week.

Literacy Coordinator, Penn Hall, Wolverhampton. Oct 2011

I cannot recommend them highly enough: it is so hard to find a quality group who consistently deliver high quality performances, with excellent actors, engaging and thoughtful storylines, and super songs. Thank you once again.

Literacy Coordinator/Standards Manager, Regents Park Primary, Birmingham. 2011

This show really captured the children's attention and made them keen to read the books that were used in the production.

Deputy Head, St Joseph's Primary, Leeds. 2011

This was a first rate show with first rate performers. All the children thoroughly enjoyed it and gained a great deal from the message - as they showed so clearly during the question and answer session at the end. I was really impressed at how deeply the children thought about what they'd seen and how they could relate it to other situations and problems. Fantastic! Well worth the money.

Literacy Coordinator, Sutton Valence Primary School, Kent. 2011

This was a first class performance which engaged all the children. The best performance we have ever bought into school. The story, songs and actors were excellent. The booking procedure was easy and information provided beforehand enhanced the experience for the children.

Assistant Head and KS2 Class Teacher, Burbage Junior School, Leicestershire. 2011

A very worthwhile experience which highlighted different social problems. The pupils were engrossed in the action and the actors were both very accommodating and friendly.

Headteacher, Llangan Primary School, Vale of Glamorgan, 2011

The simple costume changes made characters really clear, there were no distractions with disappearing backstage or unnecessary props. There was a very strong story line, with emotions, situations and characters that the children could relate to. The stage layout was good as it enabled the actors to be in among the children.

Year 4/5 teacher, Whaley Thorns Primary School, Derbyshire, 2011

The strong link between the drama and the books made the show more enjoyable and extended the learning experiences for all children.

KS1 teacher, Moorside Infant School, North Yorkshire, 2011

Jungle Bungle was a truly excellent production. Just two actors managed to captivate 600 children in 3 groups of 200. Our children and staff said that it was the best live entertainment that they had ever seen. I didn't hesitate to book next year's presentation immediately!

Northumberland Heath and Peareswood Primary Schools. 2010

This was a fantastic experience for the children who really enjoyed the performance. My class of 5 - 6 year olds thought the acting was amazing and some were gripped by their singing voices. Overall this was a really lovely afternoon filled with opportunities for learning which was developed in class.

Year 1 teacher, Thomas Arnold Primary School, Dagenham. 2011

This performance successfully tackles issues met by all children. The lively and interactive delivery, combined with the wonderful choice of books gives the show a distinctive quality.

[After the show] many children commented that they would like to read those books.

A thoroughly interactive spectacular that had the children rocking on their bottoms!

KS1 teacher, Raddlebarn Primary School, Birmingham, 2010

I wanted to personally say how amazing the Jungle Bungle performance was. A week on and the children are still talking about it. They have been singing and dancing in the playground to the music and many of the staff have commented that it was the best performance we have had in school.

Literacy Coordinator, The Downs CofE Primary School, Kent, 2010

It was a great performance - it really got the message across, and was entertaining from Reception to Year 6

The children were spellbound! Thoroughly enjoyed the session and were all engaged. Lots of follow up opportunities.

KS2 teacher, Raddlebarn Primary School, Birmingham, 2010

This was an inspiring show that really supported our drive to raise the profile of reading and, in particular, to encourage children and families to share books and enjoy reading at home. The children were spellbound by this simple yet truly professional performance.

Literacy & KS1 Leader, Elphinestone Community Primary, East Sussex. Oct 2011

The show was age appropriate for all primary age children. It was very interactive: children were involved and engaged from start to finish. Both children and teachers enjoyed the show.

Christ Church Charnock Richard, Lancashire. Oct 2011

I have never before had an outside company who could 'mesmerise' the whole school for a whole hour. The staff spent much of the time enjoying the children's reactions and being amazed by the level of engagement from children from 4yrs to 11yrs in one room.

Headteacher, Highfield Primary, Uxbridge, London. 2011

Had the children fully engaged, with very limited props, so the acting was clearly very effective. Linked to the books that the children were familiar with so they were able to relate to the performance. Superb singing voices.

SENCO, Erdington Hall Primary, November 2011

The actors were exciting and engaging and the performance was very active.

Literacy Coordinator, Monteagle Primary, Dagenham. Oct 2011.

Fantastic! We have had a brilliant morning. All children from reception to Year 6 thought it was excellent and the teachers were full of praise. The storyline touched a chord with everyone and there was a perceptible change in some children's attitudes. One teacher reported that her class had been uncharacteristically patient with a 'special' child in an activity, one of my girls told another off for describing a child as weird - 'He's just different!’. It was an inspired piece of writing with the PSHCE theme and the bag of books.

Literacy Co-ordinator, Our Lady of Ransom, Essex 2010

The best musical theatre I have seen in schools in the last 30 years.

Foundation Teacher & Creative Arts Coordinator, Killingholme Primary School, South Humberside, 2011

Using the four books was a brilliant way to interest and motivate our readers. Classes worked with these stories beforehand which helped and the children were amazed to see one of the characters with the same books! They returned from the show and I had the best writing from them of the whole term!

Head of Year 1 and Creativity Coordinator, Uplands Infant School, Leicester, 2011

A very enjoyable whole school experience, with a cross curricular music, PSHE and literacy focus. It works as a 'stand alone' treat for the children, or a springboard from which a range of teaching opportunities can be explored.

KS2 teacher and Literacy Subject Leader, St Edwards Primary School, Kent

Rarely has a theatre company catered so well for all ages in a primary school. All children responded positively and each year group had something to discuss and learn from the show.

Assistant Head & Early Years teacher, Polyplatt Primary, Lincolnshire. 2011

I feel all tingly. I know now that is is okay to be different.

6 year old girl to teacher, after Rev It Up performance. 2011

Want a show that will appeal from Reception all the way up to Year 6? Rev it Up! is the one!!

Assistant Head Teacher, Hunters Hall Primary School. 2011

This is a first class show with very professional actors. They had the ability to keep the children focused, but ensured that the message came across in a fun way. Children and teachers alike enjoyed the performance and I would recommend it to everyone.

KS2 team leader, Rose Street Primary, Kent. 2011

All children at every age were captivated by the show. The themes that can be used from the show are endless.

Literacy Coordinator, West Malling CEP School, Kent. 2011

A lively and entertaining production with a serious message for the children to learn from. The children’s attention was kept throughout.

KS2 teacher, Belvedere Junior School, Kent, 2010

Rev it Up! was a fantastic original school production. It used wonderful books that all the children enjoyed reading before the show. It was refreshing to watch an original story put on as a performance using a simple set but fantastic actors.

Literacy Coordinator, St Georges Catholic Primary School, Taunton, 2011

The show engages KS2 pupils in the four books: it would be foolish not to use it as a springboard for planning literacy.

East Stour Primary, Kent, 2009

Jungle Bungle was a fun, enjoyable treat with an excellent standard of acting and singing.

KS1 teacher, Manor Oak Primary, London, 2010

Absolutely fabulous - a wonderful, holistic experience for all ages!

Foundation teacher, Killingholme Primary, Doncaster, 2010

The show was fantastic. A great boost for a book week! The children were fully engaged right from the start. The show was lively and animated deliverying a powerful message across both key stages. To see both reception and Year 6 so involved at the same time was wonderful!

Teacher, St Bede’s Primary, Lancashire, 2010

The quality of the singing was fabulous and the response of the children was fantastic. They all loved watching it and the staff were impressed with how many of the messages they had understood which became obvious in the question and answer session.
I thought it was great value for money and you certainly 'did what it said on the tin'. I would be keen to book you again rather than other companies we have used in the past.

Head Teacher, Northern Infant School, Hampshire, 2009
